There is a terrible tragedy taking place in the Niger Delta.  Oil spills, mostly deliberate, are utterly devastating almost every creek.  Very few people outside the Delta understand why, because the issue is highly complex, and involves environmental protesters, government officials, local people and companies nationally and internationally.

I helped senior management in Nigeria and the Hague take steps to get onto the front foot with this issue, get international stakeholder support for the positions the company was taking and use "CSR" tools to help mitigate the risks of oil theft to the company.
